He won the British Championships in 1989 with FTCH Penny of Housty, and has gone on to become a Kennel Club ‘A’ Panel judge for Spaniels, and has judged the British, Irish, Swedish and Danish Spaniel Championships, as well as Cocker and Springer Spaniel Field Trials in The United States.
Chris and Lorna live at Housty Kennels with their two young children.
Lorna is Mike Shefford's daughter and has grown up at Housty Kennels. Lorna has always had a passion for dogs, and from a very young age has learnt everything about them; from delivering puppies, to handling and training adult dogs, and everything in between. Lorna manages the kennels with her husband Chris.
Chris has always loved and owned dogs. Chris has studied dog psychology, and is experienced in training most breeds of dog, encountering and solving most problem behaviours. He is also vastly experienced in the gundog world, and regularly competes at elite levels in Kennel Club licenced Field Trials, where he consistently places in the top awards. Chris has competed in the British Championships and gained fourth place, and the Joe Greatorex Memorial Trophy for the Highest Placed Newcomer. Chris has also gone on to judge Cocker Spaniel, and Springer Spaniel Kennel Club licenced Field Trial events. Chris’s reputation has now spread worldwide, as many Housty pups and trained dogs have been exported to various regions including USA, Canada, Singapore, and Europe.
